Taste Slovenia

A loaf in the suitcase makes every journey worthwhile. Nothing like a game of boules in the shade of a fig tree. Cow's milk is strong, but walnut liqueur is stronger. Don the skis, don't forget the sausage!

TASTE SLOVENIA is the slogan that aims to ensure the recognition of Slovenia's cuisine and gastronomic heritage at home and abroad; a goal which the country has systematically pursued since 2006. Slovenia has 24 gastronomic regions, represented by 176 characteristic dishes and alcoholic and soft drinks.

The Taste Slovenia Culinary Centre at Dvor Jezeršek 1768 focuses on presenting and promoting Slovenia's gastronomic and cultural heritage, as well as the latest culinary achievements, which tap into the country's rich tradition of organising banquets and receptions at home and abroad. At the Culinary Centre we are delighted to offer our guests a memorable culinary experience of all of Slovenia's gastronomic regions and food tastings, and an opportunity to buy typical house delicacies.

The Taste Slovenia Culinary Centre organises food and drink tastings, hot and cold buffets, formal and informal lunches and dinners, cultural programmes, state banquets and elite celebrations, all based on Slovenia's unique gastronomy. We serve only organic and free-range products, our menus reflect the seasons of the year, and we are happy to prepare special menus for special occasions, such as anniversaries, holidays or other festive events.

Okusiti slovenijo 7The Taste Slovenia Culinary Centre produces and sells a wide range of produce and typical Slovenian delicacies which reflect the gastronomic diversity of the country tucked between the Alps, Mediterranean and Pannonian Plain. We bake our own bread in a brick oven; we will serve you the best Kransky in Slovenia, the sweetest fig jam from ripe and plump Istrian figs, and a glass of heavenly walnut liqueur to round off the gastronomic experience.

We make our own fresh noodles; in winter time we bake potica with pork scratchings, and all other potica varieties during the rest of the year. Our shelves offer honey, pumpkin- seed and olive oil, fleur de sel, dry-cured ham, and a host of other traditional products. And last, but not least, there are the wines – the best wines from all three wine regions – and delicious 100% natural fruit juices made at Matic Homestead in Hotavlje. Experience Slovenia and its culinary diversity in the right setting.
